Kindness is a primary expression of human beings. So, it’s important to cultivate kindness as a part of your daily life. What time to start than on World Kindness Day, which we celebrate on November 13th every year. This day promotes the importance of being kind to each other, to oneself, and the world. Here are 5 ways to be kind to a friend in need or people around you.
1) Donate Things to the Needy
Collect toys that you don’t play with anymore but are in good condition. Take good clothes that you don’t wear now or gently used books. Donate all these to a charity, orphanage, or homeless shelter.
2) Help Someone
To be among the kind kids, help those in need. Help a neighbour clean their car or help your sibling to complete a drawing or a project. Wash the dishes or make your bed at home every day without being asked.
3) Spread Some Cheer
If you see your neighbour’s milk packet has split, help them mop it up. Console your classmate who is upset. Saw an elderly person struggling to cross the road? Give them a hand. If a kid younger than you falls in the park, help him get up.
4) Be Thoughtful
Visit a lonely neighbour with flowers and keep them company. Point out when someone’s shoe is untied, or their backpack zipper is open. Pack extra snacks while going to the playground and offer them to the other kids.
5) Give Thanks
Compliment a classmate for their skills or work, greet your neighbour, and thank the milkman and civil workers. Show appreciation or acknowledge someone’s efforts or qualities.
To make the world a better place, start with kindness at home and around. Your simple gestures can brighten someone’s day. As the children of the future, be friendly and generous. Want to read other fun kids’ content? We’ve got it right here!
